World’s First Hyaluronic Dermal Filler Turns 25!

Galderma’s pioneering hyaluronic acid filler hits a quarter century milestone

Restylane

With so many dermal fillers on the market, it’s important to find a practitioner using the best and most reputable products out there. One such brand is Restylane by pharmaceutical company Galderma.

Launched in 1996 with European approval, Restylane went on to become the first HA filler approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2003, meaning this year they’re celebrating an incredible 25 years at the top of their game!

With more than 50 million treatments delivered by Restylane practitioners worldwide, aesthetic practitioners are understandably happy to sing its praises.

Miss Priyanka Chadha, plastic surgeon, aesthetic practitioner and co-founder of aesthetic training academy Acquisition Aesthetics, celebrated the milestone birthday. She says, “Restylane at 25 years is an incredible achievement – it’s huge. There is medically-proven and scientifically robust data out there to support all their fillers, which for me as a plastic surgeon is of paramount importance. The biggest impact Restylane has had in terms of my practice is the versatility that it brings to my clinic. In my opinion the uniqueness of Restylane is the fact that it can complement any stage of ageing, which translates into confidence for my patients!”

Baljit Parmar, aesthetic business unit head for Galderma in the UK and Ireland also celebrated the anniversary. He said of the milestone event, “Restylane has not only stood the test of time, but it continues to innovate and is recognised as the world’s most diverse filler range. As the original ‘pioneer’ of dermal fillers, we at Galderma are proud to be continuing the Restylane story and look forward to supporting practitioners worldwide in delivering the highest possible quality and results for their patients.”

Congratulations Restylane for reaching this milestone, we look forward to the next 25 years!

Remember, if you are considering dermal filler treatments, you should seek a consultation from a medical professional such as one registered with the GMC, NMC or GDC.
